Kazan high-speed tram

Kazan high-speed tram museum

Kazan high-speed tram is a tram line in Kazan that is close to the high-speed tram system, but does not fully correspond to it due to incomplete separation of the tracks, which is why it is also referred to as an accelerated tram. The line is mainly used by modern multi-section low-floor rolling stock made in Belarus and Russia. It was built for the most part on the basis of the reconstructed conventional tram lines of the city. The first non-circular stage in the form of one of the longest tram routes in Russia and the CIS, No. 5, was launched on October 31, 2012. The complete ring in the form of the world's longest urban oncoming routes No. 5, 5a was opened on August 29, 2020 (34 km). It operates mostly along the Big Kazan Ring (BKK).
The line of the first stage was organized for the holding of the Summer Universiade-2013 in the city of the BKK: along Pobedy Avenue (Southern inner city highway) from the Solnechny Gorod microdistrict past the Universiade Village, through the "sleeping" areas of Gorki and Azino, then along Akademika Arbuzov Street and Tretya Transportnaya the dam, along Yamasheva Avenue through the "sleeping" district of Novoe Savinovo, along the streets of Lenskaya, Bolshaya Krylovka, Nesmelova (Yagodnaya Sloboda microdistrict) and Admiralteyskaya (Kirovskaya) dam to the main railway station. On the section from Arbuzova Street to Lenskaya Street, the high-speed tram tracks are combined with the usual tram route No. 6, and from Lenskaya Street to the Railway Station - with route No. 1, in the section from the Railway Station to Tatarstan Street - with route No. 2.
